More than 1,200 students are expected to move into campus housing from Aug. 18-21 as Cal State San Bernardino kicks off the 2022-23 academic year.

The university’s Department of Housing & Residential Education will hold the Fall 2022 Move-In through staggered appointments for residential students at Coyote Village, Arrowhead Village and University Village, said department director Jon Merchant.

“We are looking to be quite full and excited to have student enthusiasm for on-campus housing,” Merchant said.

The staggered move-in appointments will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day as all residents must sign up for a specific move-in appointment date/time in advance of their arrivals. The appointments are staggered per building and day/time. Check-in locations are at each village, Merchant said.

All residents must indicate via the COVID-19 Self-Certification that they have received the COVID-19 booster shot or have a medical/religious exemption. Merchant added that the department is also encouraging all residents to test prior to arriving to campus, if at all possible.

In addition, the DHRE and the Residence Halls Association (RHA) are also sponsoring several events during Move-In Welcome Week: 

  • Aug. 18-20
    Move-In Goodies, thoughout Move-In
    RHA executives will be visiting all villages and handing out treats to help students stay cool and hydrated during move-in, along with information about RHA and how to get involved in Village Council.
  • Aug. 19
    Pool Day, 4 p.m., Village Square
    Join RHA for water games, activities, snacks and music at the Arrowhead Village pool
  • Aug. 20
    Outdoor Movie Night, 8 p.m., Coyote Village Lawn
    Enjoy a relaxing movie night under the stars featuring “Jumanji: The Next Level,” complete with popcorn, cotton candy and other movie treats.
  • Aug. 21
    Yotie Sunrise, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Coyote Commons
    Residents and families are invited to join RHA and Yotie Eats for a FREE Sunday brunch, activities and giveaways.
  • Aug. 22
    Kick-off Breakfast, 7-9 a.m., village specific locations
    Start the first day of classes right by picking up a free to-go breakfast item (and some academic success tips) from your village’s academic mentors.
