The Cal State San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus will host a PDC Pack Welcome event on Thursday, Sept. 14, to officially welcome students to the 2023-24 academic year.
The campus’ annual Convocation ceremony, which takes place at the start of each fall semester to welcome students back to campus, didn’t take place this year due to Tropical Storm Hilary.
The PDC Pack Welcome event will take place in the campus’ Oliphant Auditorium from noon-1 p.m., and will officially welcome both new and returning students to campus. The event will feature remarks from university leadership with a Resource Fair and lunch to follow.
The Palm Desert Campus is also assisting its students and the community with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Hilary.
On Sept. 2, with shovels in hand, students, faculty, staff and alumni from the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus volunteered in Cathedral City to help those affected by the storm.
The campus is also offering its students special funding for those in need, which can be used for emergencies or unforeseen expenses associated with the storm.
