The Cal State San Bernardino Office of Pre-College Programs invites all members of the community to its Family Financial Wellness Fair taking place at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The free event is designed to empower families with essential tools and information to enhance their financial well-being and will feature assistance with financial aid applications, special guests, activities for kids, opportunity drawings and a live broadcast by La Poderosa 96.7 FM.
Families from across the Coachella Valley are encouraged to attend for a day of learning, empowerment and fun.
There will be free food for the first 500 attendees, hourly opportunity drawings, a resource fair, and opportunities to participate in financial wellness workshops.
Attendees will enjoy workshops on the following topics:
- A CSUSB admissions information session and next steps for admitted students
- How to complete financial aid applications – including FAFSA and California Dream Act – with a team of trained professionals providing on-the-spot individualized assistance
- Financial wellness and financial literacy
- Applying for the CalKIDS Program (a scholarship program for eligible low-income families that provides $100 for eligible newborns to use for college expenses and $500 for children in grades 1-12.)
Individuals who attend the financial aid workshops will be entered to win one of four $500 scholarships.
Registration is encouraged, and individuals can register themselves and their guests.
Organizations can also register to participate in the resource fair component of the event.
The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus is located at 37500 Cook St.
