The Scholarship Success Summit: Your Path to Higher Education will provide vital academic and financial resources to local African American high school students on Oct. 15 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Cal State San Bernardino. Students will learn about scholarships, college applications, financial aid and literacy, and attending college.

Hosted by CSUSB’s Office of Outreach and Student Recruitment and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., in collaboration with the San Bernardino City Unified School District and the Heritage Program in the Riverside Unified School District, the Scholarship Success Summit is dedicated to removing financial barriers and expanding access to higher education.

The target audience for the event is 11th- and 12th-grade students; however, the event is open to students of all grade levels. The Scholarship Success Summit is expected to attract 400-600 students to the inaugural event.

The event will feature workshops, where students get hands-on assistance and guidance on scholarships, college applications and financial aid. Members of CSUSB’s Office of Outreach and Student Recruitment, Office of Admissions, and Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will share their expertise with students. Additionally, the outreach and student recruitment team will discuss admissions requirements.

Students will be grouped by grade level and areas of interest, ensuring they receive specialized support to meet their unique needs. In addition, the 12th-grade students will have the opportunity to attend a CSUSB application or scholarship workshop, while all other grade levels will participate in an engaging financial literacy session.

With a focus on personalized guidance and interactive workshops, the Scholarship Success Summit will equip students with the skills necessary to navigate their educational journeys. By fostering a supportive environment, the event will empower students to achieve their academic goals.
