At Monk Space, Brightwork Ensemble, with CSUSB’s Stacey Fraser, breaks down musical barriers
San Francisco Classical Voice
June 23, 2025
Stacey Fraser, CSUSB professor of music, performed with the Brightwork Ensemble earlier this month in Los Angeles’ Koreatown. Charles Burns reviewed the performance: “The concert’s through line of contrasting strengths was nowhere on better display than the juxtaposition of (Molly) Pease’s wonderfully agile and lyrical voice with Stacey Fraser’s impeccable and heartfelt operatic soprano. The entire evening was about music that slips between multiple traditions, honoring each but beholden to none.”
