CSUSB has received three of the 470 Trio Talent Search awards funded by the U.S. Department of Education, totaling $4.16 million over five years, to help local middle and high school students pursue higher education.

Cal State San Bernardino’s Chinese Student Association was undeterred by the COVID-19 pandemic and the stay-at-home orders forcing remote and virtual classes that came with it, and found a way to celebrate the Chinese New Year to welcome the Year of the Ox.

The Student Success & Educational Equity associate vice president, Molly Springer, is working to close the achievement gap for first-generation, low-income and traditionally underserved students. She also is part of CSUSB’s ongoing efforts focused on the recruitment and retention of Native American students from our region.

Hawkins, who served at the university for 33 years as an administrator for various programs including Upward Bound and EOP, passed away on Nov. 18.
