Cal State San Bernardino will host Defining the Future, the nation’s first conference dedicated to accelerated workforce development in emerging technologies, set for April 15-16, 2026.

“The Defining the Future conference is designed to introduce students to the wide array of jobs in a variety of fields where they can leverage their interests and their experiences to move from campus to careers,” said Ryan Keating, co-organizer of the conference, which will take place April 15-16.

CSUSB students earned top awards at the 39th annual California State University (CSU) Student Research Competition held recently at Cal Poly Humboldt. Fourteen CSUSB students were selected to compete in the prestigious event, which showcases top student research from across the 23 CSU campuses.

Ryan Keating (history) was interviewed on the Addressing Gettysburg podcast and delivered the Gabor Borrit Address at the 2024 Civil War Institute Summer Conference at Gettysburg College, Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus), discussed the increase in hate crimes against the Muslim community, and Lorraine Hedtke (special education rehabilitation and counseling) will lead a workshop at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

Held each fall at the Palm Desert Campus, the Taste of Research introduces PDC students to the Office of Student Research and provides an overview of the office’s activities and funding opportunities.
