Cal State San Bernardino will hold its university-wide Giving Tuesday campaign on Dec. 3. This event, celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S., raises funds to support student scholarships and programs.
The scholarship recipients – Caroleena Santana, a psychology major, and Zachary Perez, a business analytics major – were honored at a luncheon at San Bernardino Valley College on Oct. 25.
“As a longstanding member of AGB, an organization that does so much for so many institutions of higher education, it’s an honor and a privilege to serve in an advisory capacity to its leadership as a member of the Council on Foundation Leaders,” said Robert J. Nava, vice president for University Advancement. The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges Council on Foundation Leaders provides counsel to key industry leaders to help them navigate the changing education landscape.
Raymond Watts comes to Cal State San Bernardino after most recently serving as associate vice president for development at Claremont McKenna College.
The award, given by Inland Empire Economic Partnership, recognizes individuals who go above and beyond their work in their profession and also display strong leadership in the two-county region of San Bernardino and Riverside.

The John M. Pfau Legacy Society, established in 2023 and named for California State University, San Bernardino’s founding president, is dedicated to recognizing the visionary group of individuals – alumni, current and former faculty and friends of the university – who have chosen to support CSUSB by including the university in their estate plans.
CSUSB was honored for its collaborative efforts in Homecoming 2021, one of the university’s first major live events after being forced to shut down face-to-face operations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
