First Peoples Coyotes Rising

The First Peoples Coyotes Rising program is designed to help admitted Native American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander students acclimate to their new college environment and take advantage of the many resources available to them on campus. The program will include networking, community-building, and culturally relevant activities. This event is primarily for Native American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander students who are First-Time Freshmen and First Year transfer students transitioning to CSUSB.
Program Objectives
The primary objectives of this program are to support Native American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander students.
- Transition into CSUSB.
- Adjust to challenges of historical and intergenerational suspicions of educational systems.
- Build community and connect with strong Native American, Indigenous, and Pacific Islander role models.
- Connect to institutional supports.
- Lay the foundations for the promotion of a positive overall student experience.
