CSUSB professor participates in press conference to update work of Ethiopian Diaspora Trust FundTadias MagazineDec. 5, 2018 Alemayehu G. Mariam, CSUSB professor of political science and chair of the Ethiopian Diaspora Trust Fund, participated in a news conference in Washington, D.C. earlier this month with members of the trust fund advisory council. The group discussed its objectives, current fundraising status and future plans to engage Ethiopians who live abroad. The council was formed by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to engage Ethiopians living outside their homeland to participate in its rebuilding. In August Abiy challenged them to donate at least a $1 a day to fund development and social programs.
