CSUSB professor Tony Coulson offers advice on guarding against identity theft online

Tony Coulson, executive director of the Cybersecurity Center and professor of information and decision science at California State University, San Bernardino, was featured by the personal finance website in a question-and-answer article on how people can stay safe and protect their personal information online.
An excerpt: “COVID-19 has created a lot of fraud avenues,” Coulson said. “From extended car warranty scam calls that catch people at home to false ‘exposure’ notifications. If it does not sound right, it probably isn’t. If you get a COVID-19 exposure call, understand that the local public health authority will never ask you for money or social security number.”

The vocal talent of Stacey Fraser, chair of the CSUSB Department of Music and director of Opera Theatre, was included in “Voices of the Pearl Volume 3,” which was the subject of a review posted at TheWholeNote website.
Wrote Tiina Kiik, “Chinary Ung’s ‘Still Life After Death’ (1995) follows a living Soul, sung by Fraser, on her ritualistic end-of-life journey. Scored for full ensemble and performed by the terrific Brightwork newmusic, the repeated detached notes, loud crashes and almost contrapuntal flute, violin and clarinet backdrops support the soprano’s emotional wide-ranging part until the deep-calming, short-Buddhist-phrase-chanting, bass-baritone, James Hayden, relaxes the Soul to echo him until her final fearless ending.”
