‘This period of time will be an inflection point,’ CSUSB professor Brian Levin says

Brian Levin, director of Cal State San Bernardino's Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism, said in an interview aired on the California Report that those who monitor hate groups have been bracing for this moment of unrest by supporters of President Donald Trump, particularly those who hold extremist views.
"This didn't start with President Trump, but it's become a rocket ship since he's been in office."
Levin said violent extremism often flares up in times of change — like the inauguration of a new president — but said that he will also be closely watching what happens after Jan. 20.
"We know that times of transition, particularly around these catalytic political ones, are times of increased risk. The problem is President Trump is the highest transmitter in the land, and has been able to coalesce and galvanize something. So this period of time will be an inflection point," he said.

CSUSB Palm Desert Campus professor co-authors paper on ‘The tactile Eriksen flanker effect’

Pablo Gomez, an associate professor of psychology at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus, was one of the authors of a paper that explored “the temporal dynamics of the flanker effect in the tactile modality and compare it with findings in the visual modality,” which appeared in the official journal of the Psychonomic Society.

fter a highly successful first season, the second season of the glassblowing competition show “Blown Away,” which once again features Cal State San Bernardino’s art professor Katherine Gray as the resident glass evaluator, will premiere on Netflix on Friday, Jan. 22. Season two also welcomes CSUSB alumna Nao Yamamoto ’14 as a contestant.
