This spring, student volunteers with CSUSB’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program prepared more than 200 tax returns for underserved individuals and families in the community.

Student volunteers with CSUSB’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program prepared more than 200 tax returns this season for underserved individuals and families, securing more than $227,000 in refunds and critical tax credits for the community.

Last year’s Business Career & Internship Fair drew nearly 300 students and 48 employers.

CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration will host its annual Business Career & Internship Fair on April 10, offering students the opportunity to network with Inland Empire employers and explore career and internship opportunities. The event, free to CSUSB students, will be held at the SMSU South Events Center from 2-5 p.m. Registration is required.

On Sept. 10 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., CSUSB’s Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration is hosting the JHBC Resource Fair, which is designed to provide business students with a comprehensive overview of the resources, opportunities and support systems available to them as they embark on the 2024-25 academic year.

Montgomery Van Wart (public administration), Cary Barber (history) and Miranda McIntyre (psychology) collaborated on a study that examined the likelihood of another U.S. civil war; Jim Estes (finance) offered tips on how to select the least expensive auto liability insurance; Brian Levin (criminal justice, emeritus) was interviewed by news media about incidents of antisemitism, racism and bias against the LGBTQ community; and Barbara Flores (education, emeritus) commented on a state Assembly bill that would mandate that reading instruction be aligned with the “science of reading.”
