Stacey Fraser, professor of music, was named the winner of Cal State San Bernardino’s 2024-25 Outstanding Professor Award for her excellence in teaching, research, scholarly and creative activities, and service to students and the campus community.

Premiering April 25 and running through May 4 at the CSUSB Ronald E. Barnes Theatre, “You Don’t Even Speak Spanish” follows Jorge Ramirez, a first-generation Chicano college student, as he struggles to find his voice over the cacophony of noise coming from his family, his classmates, and the weight of expectations placed on his shoulders. Tickets are now on sale online.

CSUSB student Jalonis Taylor’s journey from uncertainty to success as a first-generation college student is a story of resilience and determination. A part of the First-Generation College Celebration on Nov. 8, his experience at Cal State San Bernardino shines a light on the unique challenges and triumphs that students face. Taylor’s story is a reminder that with support and perseverance, students can achieve their dreams.

Auditions for two CSUSB Theatre Arts productions will be held on Sept. 4 and 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., with callbacks scheduled for Sept. 6.

CSUSB’s Department of Theatre Arts will be holding auditions for two upcoming productions: William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Mariposa/Butterfly” by Sandra Fenichel Asher and José Casas on Sept. 4 and 5, with callbacks on Sept. 6. Auditions will take place at CSUSB’s Performing Arts Building.

The musical, Pippin, was performed by CSUSB student actors and took place on campus in April 2024.

“Pippin” tells the story of a young prince who dreams of taking the throne from his father, King Charlamagne the Great. The musical will be on stage on April 26-28 and May 2-5 at CSUSB's Ronald E. Barnes Theatre.
