Mihaela Popescu (communication studies) discussed the new CSUSB-Annenberg Pipeline Program with the Annenberg School for Communication, Mike Stull (entrepreneurship) introduced the new Entrepreneurial Resource Center, a partnership with the city of San Bernardino, Andrea Giuffren (criminal justice) coauthored a study on the long-term impact of juvenile crime, and Donna Garcia (psychology) coauthored research on claims of bias by “high-status” groups.
The center, an initiative developed by the city of San Bernardino and Cal State San Bernardino, will bring together a wide range of entrepreneurial support programs and organizations to provide a complete set of training, business counseling, and access to resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the city.
Montgomery ‘Monty’ Van Wart was recognized for his enduring excellence in teaching, research, scholarly activities and service to CSUSB’s students, the university and the community.
Sharon Velarde Pierce, an associate professor of public administration and CSUSB alumna, was honored for her expertise in advising, authentic care for student success, a heartfelt passion for the profession, and her enduring commitment to teaching and mentoring students.
CSUSB’s online MBA and criminal justice programs continue to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s rankings, which are considered one of the most influential recognitions for colleges and universities.
Cal State San Bernardino is the only California State University campus recognized in the rankings, and one of only five universities in California to make the list.

To determine the rankings, Online MBA Report evaluated more than 400 U.S.-based online MBA programs, and listed CSUSB at No. 6. in California.
