Yolonda Youngs, professor of geography and recipient the prestigious John Brinkerhoff Jackson Prize awarded by the Association of American Geographers, will present “Framing Nature: The Creation of an American Icon at the Grand Canyon.” This free event, open to the public, will take place at noon Tuesday, April 22, at the Faculty Center for Excellence.

The U.S. News & World Report 2025 edition of Best Graduate Schools has nationally ranked CSUSB’s Watson College of Education at No. 144 and the public administration program at No. 129.

Business offices at Cal State San Bernardino and its Palm Desert Campus will be closed Monday, March 31, in observance of the state holiday commemorating the birthday of the late labor leader, César Chávez. CSUSB is also the site of the 2025 César E. Chávez Memorial Breakfast on Saturday, March 29. The event is sold out.

The symposium, “Equity in Technology,” will take place at CSUSB’s James R. Watson and Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. It aims to bring together educators, leaders and advocates passionate about advancing dual language immersion programs and equitable access to technology in education.

The IBAP grant (2023-25) provided $302,919, while the ExMILE grant (2024-25) contributed $391,564, with more years with the same funds directly supporting bilingual teacher candidates. Close to 60 bilingual teacher candidates benefited from these funds.
