The CSU Chancellor's Office provides system-wide resources for undocumented students.
What is FERPA? Will my immigration status be kept confidential?
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.
You can be reassured, that your immigration status and the information provided in the AB 540 Affidavit, will be kept confidential and will not be shared with immigration services.
When completing the AB 540 Affidavit, students who are undocumented check the same exact box that U.S. Citizens and residents. This is to help with the confidentiality of the student's immigration status.
- EX: 'I am NOT a nonimmigrant alien.' [U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or aliens without lawful immigration status, among others, should check this box.]

Undocumented Student Success Center

The center serves as a commons space for students and allies to connect with each other about issues regarding immigration, AB 540, employment opportunities, and much more. The center was created as a centered location where resources and assistance can be easily accessible to the undocumented community. The center has also hosted multiple informational workshops related to our undocumented students and for our on and off-campus community.
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)
Any student who is a California resident or qualifies for an AB 540 is eligible to apply to CSUSB’s Educational Opportunity Program. The mission of the EOP program is to provide access to higher education for historically low-income, first generation disadvantaged students who have the potential to succeed at the university level.
