Senior nursing student Saxxie Tran will be among the 23 California State University students to be honored with an Award for Outstanding Achievement at the CSU Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
The program, which began in the 2016-17 academic year, was created to build a stronger community between faculty and students.
He will present the Harry Le Grande Excellence in Mentorship Award during a luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13.
A community newspaper featured Nikia Chaney, a CSUSB graduate and now a lecturer in the English department, who overcame challenges to pursue her education and earn two master’s degrees.
CSUSB President Tomás D. Morales, in a welcome message, wrote: “I am eager to move forward in partnership with all of you to help CSUSB continue to make a difference in the lives of the residents of our Inland Empire.”
