
CSUSB and its Palm Desert Campus will be closed Friday, Nov. 10, in observance of Veterans Day. The university will reopen on Monday, Nov. 13.

Oliphant recently published a book, “Building California’s Coachella Valley: The Life and Times of Richard R. Oliphant,” to reflect on his many past endeavors and accomplishments. The CSUSB Palm Desert Campus will host a book signing event on Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the campus’ Richard and Janice Oliphant Auditorium.

A component of the three-day event was a stop at the CSUSB Palm Desert Campus for a special presentation. In addition, on the second day of the summit, Robert Nava, vice president University Advancement, participated in roundtable discussion with Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis on how PDC serves the region’s higher education needs.

CSUSB will participate in the annual drill that simulates a major earthquake, encouraging students, faculty and staff to “Drop, Cover and Hold On.” In addition, the Department of Geological Sciences will host QuakeCon, an outdoor event from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., to promote earthquake safety and preparedness and the work of the department’s students, faculty and alumni.

“The Gift of Love and Laughter” features Bill Marx and Cash Baxter and will take place Dec. 2 starting at 7 p.m. in the Palm Desert Campus’ Indian Wells Theater.

The Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus provides four-year degrees that allow students to grow beyond their potential and to exceed their goals.

CSUSB’s Homecoming Week will feature plenty of activities for students, alumni and friends with a campus tour, food, photo booth, giveaways, beer garden and Coyote volleyball, along with various celebrations and events at both university campuses.

The Mary Stuart Rogers Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Cal State San Bernardino’s Palm Desert Campus. The scholarship is merit-based and only awarded to the top students at the campus.

CSUSB will celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month by highlighting student leaders, faculty and staff in various activities and special events throughout the month.
